Discovering Purring

We had a fun time last night babysitting the boys so Amber and Jason could go to dinner with some friends. Jaden has grown up so much the past while. He's graduated from the terrible twos into the terrific threes!! I never used to trust him around the cat because he pulled his tail. I was always afraid the cat would fight back!!

But, last night Jaden had so much fun with Ajax. He just loved listening to him purr. He was so kind and gentle with the cat. It was great.

Will spring ever come?

I can only remember a handful of winters that were as frustrating as this one is. Spring just doesn't seem to be coming. When I woke up this morning and saw the snow and heard the cold wind howling, I just wanted to crawl back under the covers and hibernate for a few weeks.

The fact that we get to go on a vacation in a few days is the only thing that is keeping me going. I came home and decided to look at a few of my photos from last summer. I thought that maybe some great memories would help spring come in my mind.

Here is a photo of a glorious morning that we enjoyed last year.

Easter Weekend

We had a very nice holiday weekend. First of all, we upgraded our cable tv to digital cable. It was fun playing with the DVR. I don't watch much TV, but it will make the time that I do spend so much more enjoyable. I've chosen several shows that I like to be recorded every day. That way, if I do want to watch, I can see what I want without commercials.

On Saturday, the sun came out. It was so nice to work outside in the yard for a couple of hours. Then, Greg and I decided to drive over to Teton Park. It was still winter there, but very beautiful. We watched the sunset at Snake River Overlook. I got so cold, but the view was worth it.

Easter was spent at church and with family. We had dinner at our house. It was fun having the kids here. I think everyone had a great time. Here are some Easter photos we took of the kids the other day.

Having the week off work has given me more time to spend with the grandkids. I love it!

A lazy day

Two posts in one day..... Can you tell it's been a long and lazy day. I saw a photo on my Nikon Cafe today that was so cute. The person who did it sent me her texture and I had to try it out. I had this photo of Harlee that I took by the back door a while ago that I thought would be the perfect one for the texture. What do you think?

Better than Hollywood Video

Greg is working late tonight. I'm glad I got to spend a little time with Jaden today. It helped break up an otherwise monotonous day.

Of course, after we played for a while, he wanted to check out my movies so he could decide which one he wanted to take home. Today it was Winnie the Pooh.

DIY weekend

A few weeks ago I bought a new bedspread. The colors remind me of the popular colors when we got married--rust and brown. I loved those colors then and I still love them although I have not decorated with them for 20 years.

After we got the bedspread, we decided that the bathroom needed to be repainted. So we did it in rust and brown!! I love it. I sure hope blue and mauve don't come back in style, though.

Memories of Redfish....

My computer is getting too full. I need to burn some of my older photos to DVD's. The problem is that there are a lot of them I haven't worked on yet. So, I got to have fun tonight revisiting Redfish Lake. I didn't have a good attitude about going there last year, but I promise that I will be better this year. Just seeing these photos made me excited about it.

Something fun to see

Last summer Greg and I discovered a new hike. It's up Cascade Canyon in Grand Teton National Park. We went there twice and loved it. On one of our trips I took a photo of a stream cascading down the mountainside.
An artist, Ron Staker, saw my photo on the Internet and wrote me asking for permission to make an oil painting from the photo. I gave my permission and asked him to send me a photo of the finished painting. I got an e-mail from him today with the photo. It turned out really nice.

Teton Valley Drive

We took a little drive this afternoon to the Teton Valley so see if we could see the mountains. They were still under a blanket of clouds, but we found a pretty spot anyway.

The window....

Do you think they wish they could be outside...... Don't we all. I wonder when spring will really come.
