A VERY talented husband
Greg is the best!! If you need something fixed or built he has the skills. For the past year we have been working on our kitchen. It is still a work in progress, but there has been quite a bit of progress lately. When we started the project, we decided that we would only do what we could pay for. We were not going to borrow any money, which seems like the safe thing to do in the current economy.
Well, one year later, the wallpaper is all gone, a beautiful wainscot has been added to the dining room, new crown molding is added, the flourescent light is gone and a beautiful tray ceiling has taken it's place, all the light fixtures are new, the desk is gone with a pantry in it's place, the upper cabinets have been removed over the snack bar, and all the cabinet hardware is new.
We still have a wish list and a few unfinished details....like the end of the cabinet where the upper ones were removed....but the results are very nice so far.
Thank you Greg!!! You are amazing.
The house is getting old....but, I'm very content here.

Heather and Beau
It has been a real joy to watch Heather and Beau in action with the kids the past couple of months. They will be moving out soon, so I'm trying to enjoy all the moments. Everyone is anxious to get back to normal, but it will be a bittersweet moment for me.
They are the most devoted parents. Once Beau gets home from work he hardly puts the baby down. You should see how she stares at his face. She knows who her daddy is. He also plays with Harlee. They play with her princesses for hours on end. Beau gives Jaycie her bath every day. It's great to watch. She loves her bath time and doesn't cry any more.
Heather is so devoted and patient as a mother. The kids always come first. It's no wonder that Jaycie is growing like a weed. I hardly ever hear her cry. The girls always look so cute.
It's fun being a grandma and watching all my girls be moms. They just couldn't be better or more devoted to their kids.
I know I'm bragging.....but isn't that what grandmas are supposed to do!!

Real Life
In my perfect world I would have a beautiful photo of me holding all 6 of my grandkids. They would all be smiling and looking at me with adoration. They would be dressed in their Sunday best and I would look beautiful.
Well, here is the real world. It's probably much better than a perfect world. These little ones are perfect to me just the way they are!!
You need to click on the photo to see it larger to appreciate that two of the children are crying. One is trying to hide and one is squirming. Thank heavens for the babies.

A welcome sight
The snow is almost melted in our yard. I looked out the window yesterday and saw this welcome sight in my neighbor's front yard. I hope she doesn't mind that I took a closer look. Is there anything more welcome than seeing the first flowers of spring!!
It's a great cure for the flu. I had been bragging that I hadn't gotten a cold or flu all winter. You shouldn't do that, although I think I have a mild case.....just muscle aches, headaches, and tiredness, not the awful cough that others in my family have had. I've been able to go to work and do all that I need to do.
Last year my neighbor suggested a new doctor that she thought I should go to. His name is Dr. Morton. He's a young Internal Medicine specialist. I had to see him as a follow up yesterday and he could tell I didn't feel well. I wanted him to know that the medicine he prescribed me is working and I was just temporarily ill. I like his style. He says things that I can understand and relate to. He looked at me and said, "The flu sucks." You know, he is right..... I like him a lot. The only reason I even mentioned all of this is that I have been smiling ever since I went to the doctor thinking about one who didn't talk in all his medical talk. He just said it like it is.... The flu sucks...... But, crocuses in my neighbor's yard, robins in my tree, and a day warm enough to go outside without a jacket don't. Can't believe I just posted this.....I never use the word suck in that way.

New baby and new house
This year has been interesting for us so far. In January, we did some organizing and cleaning to get the basement ready for Heather and Beau to come and live with us. Then we went to Twin Falls to help them move. How grateful we are for Beau's new job and the opportunity that they had to move home.
Of course, the first week they were here was spent in helping everyone adjust. Heather only had a few days left in her pregnancy and we were looking forward to the birth. Little Jaycie made her grand entry one week after they got here. I know that Heavenly Father was looking out for the kids. They left Twin Falls the first day that they could get out of their lease and only a week before the baby was born. It couldn't have worked out better for them. I know who is in charge!!
It's interesting how you spend time worrying how everything will work out and then in the end you realize that you should just trust in the Lord more, because things will be ok.
The timing of everything was great for them. Interest rates are at an all time low and of course, you get the wonderful Obama $8000 for first time home buyers incentive. I'm not for all this government spending, but am glad that at least some of it will help my kids.
They searched and researched buying a house very carefully. Believe me, these kids are not impulse buyers. The looked at all their options. I think they found a wonderful house. Now they are waiting for the mortgage to come through so they can move in. We will all be ready for them to be on their own. It's hard for them to have to live with mom and dad, but they have been great about it. Beau even does the dinner dishes almost every night.
The day they found the house they called us to come and see it. I took a couple of photos with my little camera that I keep in my purse. I tried to take photos of all the houses they looked at so they could compare them at home.
I sure wish I had a new house. (But we don't want a new mortgage and new lawn, so guess we will be content)
The first day that Harlee is not here, will certainly be a sad one for me. I will miss her dancing and singing. But, they won't live far away. So, I am one happy grandma. I wish they lived closer to Margaret and Jerry as well. We love the Hall family so much and are so thrilled that Harlee and Jaycie have such great support from their extended families.
I better take lots more pictures while the kids are here.

One month old, already!!
Little Jaycie turned one month old on Saturday. Where does the time go? She's pretty much over her cold now which is a huge relief for all of us.
Time with Brighton
Last week Amber and I decided that it would be good for the twins to get a little time away from each other. I took Brighton on Wednesday in the afternoon. What a good time we had.
