Brighton's Special Day

We have started a little tradition with the Grandkids called the Special Day. So far only Jaden has had a "Special Day" until today. I think that the twins and Harlee are getting old enough now. This morning I didn't have to go to work. I cleaned my house yesterday. So, I called Amber to see if Brighton could spend some time with me. I think it will be fun to separate the twins once in a while and get to know them each individually.

I took him to WalMart. We looked at the fish, Christmas Trees, toys, and treats. Of course, he had to have a little present and a treat. Then we rode on the little car in the arcade section. After that we spent some time at our house. You know what he wanted to do?.........

Open and close the doors. We have door handles he can work himself. So I watched him open and shut doors. It doesn't take much to entertain a baby that isn't quite 2 yet!!!

Soon it will be Brigham's Special Day. (He is pretty attached to his mom, hope he will come with me.)

The Leaf Fight

Hope you don't miss the pumpkin carving post below, but I had to do two posts today. Greg and Jaden have a standing date to play in the leaves every Saturday until they are gone. I should have been cleaning my house, but couldn't resist going out and joining in on the fun!!

Remember When.....

I found this old photo today. I'm guessing that it is about 11 years old. Isn't it great that we still keep this tradition going in our family. I'll put more photos from this year's pumpkin carving on as soon as I can.

Here are a couple from Wednesday night. Sorry, I haven't got more ready to post. I was having too much fun with Harlee.

Now I have to work on my Relief Society lesson and clean the house.

Jenn couldn't even carve a pumpkin, but came to the party anyway!!!

They sure turned out great!!

Fall

Jaden has been so excited to have our leaves start coming down so he can play in them. I think this picture says it all.

So Cute It's Scary

Heather was visiting me a couple of months ago, and we went shopping. We saw a cute little Halloween outfit that we thought would be fun to get for Jenny. Of course, Jade wasn't born yet, but we were hoping that it would fit him right by the time the end of October came. Well, he had it on today and I think it looked so cute.

He gets cuter every day!!! I don't know how it's possible.....

The Sabbath

I don't know how I would survive it I didn't have the Sabbath. It is truly a gift. Today was a really nice one. It's such a huge blessing to have a day of the week that is an escape from all the problems and chaos of the world. I always feel so refreshed and energized from attending my church meetings and spending time with family.

We had a great time tonight visiting with Greg's mom and some of my family members. Ben Curtis was over at mom and dad's house. He always has some of the best stories to tell. He makes me laugh, but I am always impressed with his goodness and intelligence.

A few minutes ago I was able to talk to Harlee on the phone. She was actually able to carry on a little conversation. I miss her so much. Of course she misses Grandpa and Zoey more than she misses me, which is fine. Her grandpa sure loves her. I'm going to add a little picture to this post for Harlee. Heather wants me to get some new photos of Grandpa and Zoey on my website so that Harlee will have some new ones to look at. We are sure excited that Beau will be working at the site soon and they will be able to move back.

Yesterday we took the boys to the pumpkin patch. They all wanted to get small pumpkins that they could carry. It was fun being with them, but Jaden wasn't feeling well and didn't hold out for very long. Brighton was funny. He loved the little maze that they had set up and wanted me to follow him around in it.

October

It has been a crazy October. The economic news and politics has been so depressing. But, General Conference was so uplifting and inspiring. I don't know how a person would survive all the craziness without the peace that the gospel brings. How I love the General Authorities of the church. I have always been so inspired by conference. I remember that when I was a teenager, we had no way to record conference, but I would watch the reruns on KBYU over and over.

The other bright spot in my life is the love I have for my grandchildren. Luckily, we've been able to spend time with each of them. They bring me more joy than I ever could have imagined.
